South Africa & West Indies played the tournament final with South Africa winning their first Champions Trophy title. Keith Arthurton (West Indies) The West Indies Left arm Orthodox bowler Keith Lloyd Thomas Arthurton would pick 4 wickets from the three matches he played in the ICC Champions Trophy 1998 at an average of 14.25. With these wickets, Tendulkar featured in the top 5 list of the most wickets in Champions Trophy 1998. His best was 4-38 against Australia in a winning cause at the quarterfinal stage. With these wickets, Kallis led the top 5 list of the most wickets in Champions Trophy 1998. His best was 5/30 against West Indies in the tournament final. Incidentally, he took the only 5-wicket haul of the tournament. In the tournament final, West Indies batted first to score 245 with Philo Wallace’s 103 & Carl Hooper’s 49. Kallis took 5 while Cronje took 2. South Africa chased down the target of 246 with 4 wickets intact as Captain Cronje scored 61 not out to win the title for his team. Kallis was declared the player of the match in the final. Only one bowler took 5-wickets haul while two bowlers took 4-wickets haul in the tournament.
