IPL 2021: Harbhajan Singh decided to return for the IPL 2021 auctions after missing out on the previous season due to personal reasons. The veteran off-spinner had raised eyebrows when he returned home just days before Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) clashed for the opening match of the season. He now has revealed the reason for not participating at IPL 2020.In conversation with CricBuzz, he explained that due to the pandemic he wanted to be around his family. “I am looking forward to the IPL, I am preparing hard for it. Even last year, I was keen on playing but because of the pandemic, I could not. I needed to be around my family. At that stage I thought skipping IPL was the right decision,” Harbhajan told Cricbuzz in a recent interaction. The 40-year-old spinner added that there is a lot of cricket left in him. Harbhajan has been working on his fitness and says he is ready for the upcoming IPL 14 edition.“There is a lot of cricket left in me, very much. Fitness-wise, I am quite fit, I worked hard on my fitness during the lockdown. Unfortunately, I could not do anything (participate in the IPL). I am looking forward to being in the park again and doing what I can do best,” he added. The former Indian spinner was released by CSK ahead of 2021 auction. The mini-auction will be held in Chennai on February 18. The Punjab spinner is listed for Rs 2 crore base price.
